this is a beautiful picture. but i’m rebloging it because i fucking hate this kind of discipline. this is everything but a natural way for a horse to be. it is VERY painful for him to be in that position AND to have the bits hitting and pulling in his mouth that much.
i love horse with all my heart and as soon as Devil, the horse i’m carring for, will be confident enough with me, i’ll buy him a biteless briddle. i will never, ever try to teach him something that is not natural for him to do, like putting his head so low or dancing (they look stupid anyway when they do that). i will never force him to do something he dont want to. i will work with him until he accept to do it by himself. i will teach him, not force him. i’m always very smooth and patient with him, i try to understand whats bothering him when he dont want to do something, instead of freaking out against him and yell, like others are doing. i will never use a whip or a carrot stick, nor spurs. i never did and never will. i want to understand him, so he can understand me too. i dont want to have a oneway relation with him. i want us to be a team, i want to work WITH him. i dont want him only to do what i’m asking him like a robot would. i love horses that have their own personality. horses that are too easy going are not fun to work with.
that beaing said, look at him and remember how much he’s suffering when you make him do that.
